It is fair to say, we all want great care, we may worry that if we attend a hospital with the NHS suffering from its many problems, that we may not get the care we need. In my own case, I was admitted to Gloucester Royal Hospital on the 20th October 2018 with a perforated gall bladder, abscess on the liver, sepsis with high inflammatory markers, a bladder infection, and they discovered lesions on the adrenal glands. My condition deteriorated badly and I became very poorly, the sepsis caused hallucinations and paranoia, I was taken to intensive care, then the following day under the direction and supervision of Mr Jaunoo a radiologist inserted two drains into my gall bladder, this procedure in all probability saved my life. And I cannot thank Mr Jaunoo and the radiologist enough for their skill and diagnosis. Following my recovery I found Mr Jaunoo to be a very professional consultant, but also a very humble man, for when my wife thanked him for saving my life, he humbly gave credit to his team. When discussing further options which required more surgery, the information was presented in a calm way, but he also made it understandable presenting the information in a factual straightforward manner, which also had the effect of putting you at ease, this gives me the confidence that the further surgery I have to face will be done to the best of his ability. He has this ability to make you feel that you are more than just any patient, that you are in fact his only patient. It is with grateful thanks that my wife and I wish to commend Mr Jaunoo and his team for the great care I received. Joseph & Dorothy Shaughnessy

It's very hard to find the right words to describe how we, as a family, feel about the skill, kindness and honesty of Mr Jaunoo, from the very traumatic and possible outcome of my husband's operation to spending time with us all, explaining exactly what had happened and always giving us hope but at the same time, a realist view. And now, thanks to all of the above and a wonderful team around Mr Jaunoo, my husband is getting stronger every day and will hopefully join the family once again.

Obviously I knew nothing immediately before, during or after my operation but without Mr Jaunoo's skill and knowledge, it is unlikely that I would still be here and for that I am eternally grateful. After the operation, he followed my subsequent progress with interest and helpfulness and gave us lots of useful and optimistic information.

I was taken in as an emergency to Gloucester Hospital in the early hours of Monday morning, the medical matter was resolved through surgery less than 60 hours later and I wanted to share the immensely positive experience. In this day and age it is easy to knock and malign the free services that we take for granted and this includes the NHS. I would like to thank Mr Jaunoo and his amazing staff both in A&E and the Surgical Ward on Floor 5 in the Tower Building. The staff throughout kept me updated on what was happening and dealt with me professionally and proficiently at all times without relinquishing their personable manner and demonstrating the caring side of their profession. I can't thank you all enough, my experience was excellent and faultless and rivals and beats the private care I have had in the past. I would ask that my sincere, heartfelt thanks is passed on to all of the team. I can't thank you enough. These emergency events are always disturbing, but the attention and support I received from Mr Jaunoo, his surgical team and the rest of the staff at Gloucester Hospital made the whole process far more manageable and less traumatic than I ever imagined it would be. If the NHS had a team of consultants like Mr Jaunoo I believe the system, hospital and above all patients, would benefit immensely. This gentleman has great people skills, listens to you, examines, and concludes appropriately, putting you at ease. His communication is clear and precise and encourages dialogue to enable factual conclusions, he is a credit to his profession and the NHS. He does not have an aire of aloofness likes many other consultants who believe they are doing you a favour, almost godlike. Please can we have more like Mr Jaunoo
